Located in the heart of York, St Leonard’s Place comprises an imposing Grade II listed crescent which, together with the adjoining Grade II listed properties on Museum Street, were acquired by the Rushbond Group in 2006. Previously occupied by City of York Council, Rushbond drew up plans to restore the building to its original 19th century splendour, transforming the offices into 40 elegant homes, including five townhouses, 29 apartments and six mews properties.
Get in touchOur involvement in the 22-month project ranged from the scheme design to procurement and complete installation. Throughout the refurbishment, the effective and empathetic use of space was a key issue. This ranged from restricted access routes for vehicles and workers on site to restrictions on parts of the building that could not be altered in any way due to its listed status. For this reason, we selected high-end home automation products, some developed in-house for use throughout this scheme. These products were streamlined and compact in size, using smart and IOT-enabled technologies to deliver the functionality required within the listed building restrictions.
